I was born and lived in Jerusalem, Israel. In 1991 I graduated with a BFA in Ceramic design at Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem. In 1994 I opened my own studio in Jerusalem and displayed my work in three co-op galleries in Jerusalem and Tel-Aviv.
In 1999 I moved to New Mexico, USA and was a member of the Corrales Bosque Gallery for more than 20 years. I live in Rio Rancho and currently display my work at Amapola Gallery.
As a child I remember browsing children’s books and looking for pictures before reading the book. For years I dreamed of being an artist and children’s book illustrator.
Now, I have learned to apply this passion of mine into making ceramics and drawings. My pieces are a
combination of hand sculpted figures attached to all types of clay vessels such as cups, vases, plates, bowls,
and containers, with colorful illustrations to create and tell a story, mostly in a humorous way. I am inspired by animals in nature, and I constantly look for new ideas to create unique pieces that will bring a smile to people’s faces.
I prefer to use high-fired clay because of its strength and qualities; and use a variety of ceramic techniques such. as the potter's wheel, handmade sculptures, slabs, or casting molds to achieve my goals.
