Kevin Damazyn is an Albuquerque native who grew up with a great appreciation for the natural landscapes that exist here. The stunning layers of rock that develop on the mesas inspired him to stain and layer clay.

 

The colors of the sunsets inspired him to experiment with layering glazes in new and exciting ways. When you look closely at these glazes and marbled forms, look to see if you can find any shapes, like when watching clouds.

Kevin started his pottery journey in high school making boxes and a clay shoe. He was never able to get that clay shoe to fit right, so ever since 2017 he has been making functional ware. There is really nothing like drinking or eating from a handmade piece, as you will soon find out.
